Every year millions of people all around the world are evicted from their homes by forces of state and capital. At the same time confl icts about public space are intensifying. People stand up for their human right for housing. Moving on a spectrum between the aesthetic and the political, the spectacular and the useful, the documentary and the forthcoming, this action serves as a space to learn and exchange practices of togetherness and collective resistance.
Eviction is a project by Omer Krieger, produced by the Curatorial Collective for Public Art, and presented at the Maxim Gorki Theater. The Berlin edition is supported by the National Performance Network, and its mediation programme by the Federal Agency for Civic Education. It premiered at the Israel Festival, Jerusalem in September 2022.
