Tomer Zirkilevich is an Israeli artist who is based in Berlin. He is a choreographer, director, performer and teacher, and is a graduate of The Dance School at the Kibbutzim College in Tel-Aviv.
Tomer has created several works including SWAN, The ARK, My David & SODOM, Infidelty: A love story and more. His works have been presented in various festivals and venues throughout Europe. His video dance production ‘Objective Romance’ has won several accolades at festivals worldwide.
Tomer has expertise in the fields of physical theatre, screen and stage performance. His works mainly revolve around the ‘conflicts of values’ and social norms.Currently he is working as choreographer for the Gorki theatre, on production of 'Eviction' by Omer Krieger. He also works as a dramaturg and a teacher of improvisation and choreography.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Tomer, along with Edegar Starke and Dock11 Berlin, curated and produced ‘SpeeDance - The fastest choreography project’. The festival has brought together about 40 dance artists from diverse backgrounds for a weekend of networking, creation, exchange, and performance. Owing to its success and the evident need for such an event in Berlin’s artistic scene, SpeeDance is now becoming an annual festival.
